Athens Main Street Announces Halloween and Weekend Downtown Events
Multiple Family-Friendly and Adult Events Planned Throughout Downtown Athens This Weekend
ATHENS, Ala. – Athens Main Street is excited to announce a series of fall festivities scheduled from Friday, October 31, through Sunday, November 2, offering entertainment for all ages throughout downtown Athens.
The Halloween celebration will kick off at Old Black Bear (311 S. Marion St.). Family Night on Oct. 31 from 3-5 PM, offering a safe, fun environment for families with young children to enjoy Halloween activities in a welcoming atmosphere.
Following the family festivities, First Responders will host their annual Trunk or Treat event (on the east side of the Limestone County Courthouse) from 5-7 PM, giving children another opportunity to collect treats while celebrating local heroes who serve the community.
“We’re thrilled to offer such a diverse range of Halloween activities that bring our community together throughout the entire weekend,” said Tere Richardson, Executive Director of Athens Main Street. “From our family-friendly events to our adult entertainment, we have something for everyone to create lifelong memories in downtown Athens.”
The evening continues with Merchants Alley (107 N. Jefferson St.) Happy Hour featuring the Limestoners from 5:30-7 PM, providing live entertainment as the downtown area transitions from family activities to evening festivities.
Studio 16 Cigar Lounge (112 N. Marion St.) will have an adult costume party with live music, food, and giveaways beginning at 7 p.m.
Capping off Friday night, Irons & Ales (217 S. Madison St.) will host Adult Night featuring the band JUICE at 9 PM, offering grown-up Halloween entertainment.
Saturday, November 1, Events Continue the Celebration.
The Halloween weekend continues Saturday, November 1st, with additional festivities for all ages:
Salty Cod (309 W. Market St.) will host family activities from Noon-2 PM, followed by adult festivities from 7 PM-Midnight, providing options for both families and adults to enjoy the extended Halloween celebration.
Old Black Bear (311 S. Marion St.) will feature an Adult Costume Contest, offering participants the chance to showcase their creative Halloween costumes in a competitive setting.
Athens Alehouse (113 S. Marion St.) will present Big Spring Revival, adding live music to the weekend’s entertainment lineup.
Weekend Events Continue Downtown Athens Entertainment
The festivities extend beyond Halloween weekend with additional weekend programming:
On Saturday, November 1st, from 1-4 PM, the Athens Farmers Market will feature live music, local vendors, celebrity chef demonstrations, and wine experts. A special $70 tasting ticket includes access to 50 wines (red, white, and sparkling), opportunities to meet wine experts, and chef-curated food tastings. Both free and ticketed options are available. Athens-Limestone County Tourism presents “Jazz in the City,” featuring the Calhoun Jazz Band, on Sunday, November 2nd at 4 PM at the Athens Farmers Market at Doug Gates Park, bringing high-quality musical entertainment to downtown.
