Athens Main Street is proud to announce the 2017 winners from the Sippin’ Cider Festival. The festival was held on December 9, 2017. This event brought attendees from all over North Alabama, Central and South Alabama, Tennessee and even a few from Florida and Texas, to Eat, Sip, and Shop in downtown Athens, Alabama.

“This event was such a great success and brought lots of out to town visitors to shop and enjoy our beautiful downtown.” said Athens Main Street Executive Director Melanie Newton. 16 downtown merchants participated in the seventh annual Sippin’ Cider Festival. The business with the most votes was Pimento’s. Pimento’s, located at 210 W. Market Street, served a great cider that everyone enjoyed. Attached is a photo of Jim Brodie, co-owner of Pimento’s who made the winner cider, with the Cider Cup.

Athens Main Street also hosts a Holiday Window Decorating Contest during the event.  The theme this year was “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”.  The contest was close and the first place and third place winners were separated by just 6 points.  First Place is Crawford’s, Second Place is Snapdragon Kids and Third Place goes to High Cotton Arts.
