ATHENS, Ala. – The Green Street Pavilion, is turning 40, and we’re excited to celebrate a place that has been home to farmers markets since 1986. Newly renovated and ready for a new season, the pavilion is set to welcome another year of fresh food, friendly faces, and community connection.
Beginning May 5, join us every Tuesday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Athens Farmers Market, located at 409 Green Street, for fresh, local produce, prepared foods, and handmade artisan goods.
“We’ll kick off the season with a ribbon cutting and complimentary cake as we celebrate 40 wonderful years.” said Market Manager Kat Greene.
As an Alabama Certified Farmers Market, everything you’ll find is locally grown or made right here in North Alabama and the Tennessee Valley from fresh produce to baked goods and handcrafted items. More than just a place to shop, the market is a place to gather, relax, and enjoy time with family and friends.
We’re thankful for the support of our Presenting Sponsor, Dream Key, our Opening Day Sponsor, First Metro Bank, and Walmart Athens for making live local music part of the market experience. Kick off the season with Dr. Mary Crowell performing from 3 to 5 p.m. on opening day!
Our popular Saturday markets will open June 6 and run through September 26 from 8 a.m. to Noon. There’s no better way to support your community than by shopping local and there’s no better place to do it than the Athens Farmers Market. Athens Farmers Market is a program of Athens Main Street.
